Collocation & Its Uses

কেন আমি IELTS Writing বা Speaking এ 7 + স্কোর পাচ্ছি না?

আমি গতকাল একটা পোষ্ট দিয়েছিলাম Collocation নিয়ে। IELTS Writing & Speaking এ Lexical Resource নামে একটা Marking Criteria আছে যেখানে 7.0 , 8.0 & 9.0 পেতে গেলে কি কি এ্যাড করতে হবে তা স্পষ্ট করে লেখা আছে। আপনার রাইটিং এর জন্য Collocation খুব গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আর Speaking এর জন্য Collocation & Idiomatic Language.
আমরা একটু দেখে নিই marking Criteria তে কি লেখা আছে।

7.0 BAND ( Writing )
Uses Less common Lexical ITEMS (I mean – Common Vocabulary ইউজ কম ক রতে হবে ) with some awareness of style & Collocation.

7.0 Band (Speaking)
uses some less common and idiomatic vocabulary and shows some awareness of style and collocation, with some inappropriate choices

স্পিকিং এ আপনি idiomatic vocabulary ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন কিন্তু Writing এ নাহ।

Common Vocabulary গুলা ইউজ করলে 6.5 ই পাওয়ার চান্স বেশি। এবং অনেকেই বার বার IELTS দিয়ে টাকা নষ্ট করে কিন্তু সঠিক জায়গাগুলোতে কাজ করে না।

এবার আসেন শিখি Collocation কি।
Collocation refers to how words go together.
(Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary & Thesaurus)

এরা (Adjective + Noun) হতে পারে Golden opportunity

(Verb + Noun) হতে পারে Pay Bills / Make a Mistake

(Noun +Verb) হতে পারে The crowd Cheered / The data Showed

(Verb +adjective) হতে পারে Smiled Proudly / Increased Steadily

(Noun +Noun) হতে পারে Job Security /a shoe shop

এরকম প্রচুর Collocations আছে আপনাকে এগুলা ব্যবহার করা শিখতে হবে।
Lived happily, A sense of achievement/ An entitlement mentality/ Beautiful Girl/ A crown of jewels/ A spike in prices/

Heavy rain/ High Temperatures/Scenic View/ Have an experience/ Blonde hair
